CAHP Webinar: Timely Access to Care in California
Wednesday, March 17, 2021
California’s “Timely Access” laws and regulations give the Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) authority to measure plan networks and progress on meeting access standards including timeframes under which enrollees must be able to obtain care. Under the law, health plans are required to submit annual compliance reports to DMHC who then publishes an annual report on plan performance. While providing important information to policymakers and public, the process for measuring timely access to care still remains a work in progress. Health plans, providers, and regulators are still working on the best ways to measure timely access care more accurately and in a way that fairly depicts actual access to care. At this session, regulators and industry experts on this topic will discuss our progress to date, the challenges in complying with these complex rules, and possible solutions for health plans to consider.
