The California Association of Health Plans Seminar Series provides great depth, technical insight and information to help industry professionals improve their daily operations. Since 2004, we have offered a wide array of seminars on current and recurring health care issues and trends that attract a broad audience of industry peers. Past seminars have covered diverse topics such as medical management, biotechnology, disease management, pharmacy management, obesity programs, IT outsourcing and managed care trends.
CAHP offers health care industry vendors the outstanding opportunity to "host" a seminar planned, promoted and executed by CAHP staff. Through your sponsorship, you are provided access to our member health plans and unique networking opportunities while providing enormous educational value to our members and other health care organizations. CAHP manages the details of the meeting space, meals and registration, as well as program promotion in various local publications, our weekly CAHP Update, and mailings to our Master List of over 3,000 contacts. The premier sponsor (host) has the ability to craft the contents of the seminar, as you are the expert of your seminar.
March 2, 2017 - Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel & Convention Center
Medi-Cal is the largest Medicaid program in the country and has experienced huge growth since the passage of the ACA. California has its own unique financing structure for Medi-Cal which must be reconciled with new requirements under the final federal rule on Medicaid Managed Care set by the Centers of Medicaid Services (CMS) and the potential for major changes from the federal Administration. The federal health care debate has included several potential “reforms” to the way Medicaid is financed including Block Grants and Per Capita Spending Caps. Either approach would be a fundamental change to a program that currently bases funding on actual cost to the State. While we don’t know what will happen or when it will happen, we will start the discussion by examining our current Medi-Cal program, its financing structure, proposed federal reforms like block grants, and hearing from health plans and other industry experts on what are the opportunities and challenges of reform.
