As our attention is drawn to the problem of ever increasing healthcare costs we are faced with a new challenge: how do we best measure the cost of care in a manner that allows fair comparisons, and then integrate this with quality into a "value" equation that supports new payment initiatives? At the 7th National Pay for Performance Summit, March 19-21 in Los Angeles, CA, answers to this question will be will be thoroughly explored.
The theme of the Summit this year is "Value Based" Pay for Performance, which focuses on the evolution of P4P from primarily quality-based incentive payments to the integration of cost and quality in performance based payment initiatives. Attendees at this year's National P4P Summit will hear from leaders in the field working to implement innovative programs that focus on both bending the cost curve and increasing quality.
